- A proposed Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit (“Lawsuit”) called Jewell, et al. v. Florida Health Sciences Center Inc., d/b/a Tampa General Hospital, Case No. 2023-CA-014439, pending in Hillsborough County Circuit Court, Florida, which alleges that Florida Health Sciences Center Inc. d/b/a Tampa General Hospital (“Defendant”) violated the Florida Security of Communications Act (“FSCA”) and other laws relating to Defendant’s use of the Metal Pixel and other advertising technology (collectively “adtech”) on its website and patient portal.
- You are included in the Settlement if you accessed Tampa General Hospital’s website or patient portal between May 1, 2017 and August 23, 2022.
- Defendant has agreed to suspend adtech from its website, patient portal, and other web platforms and will provide a cash payment of $15.00 to each Settlement Class Member who submits a valid and timely claim form. See Question 6 for more details.
